Why & how often you should wax your car?

Do you see a wax job as being an added luxury for your car, something that is done every once and a while just to add a little extra shine to your vehicle? If you do, you may just see the effect that lies before your eyes. Although ignoring your paint job may not result in any vehicle related mechanical issues, it certainly will affect your car’s resale value.
Nowadays, people argue a lot about the necessity to wax a car since most cars now have a protective clear coat—a clear resin applied over the colored resin. The clear coat is there to play the role of a protective barrier, so why wax?
There are arguments for and against waxing. As myself, I suggest that we look at this yes-or-no question from another angle-car waxing does exit and the waxing industry has no signs of diminishing trend, so it do have reasons to exist. In my opinion, I fall in the yes side. Let me tell you some facts about car waxing. Clear coat is not bulletproof, while it does offer some level of protection — from menaces such as ultraviolet rays, weather, dirt and debris — it shouldn’t become your excuse for the elimination of waxing. The wax is important because it will offer protection against all sorts of elements like weather, oxidation, road debris, bugs and tree sap, and it will also help remove or disguise minor blemishes or light scratches. Some experienced car owners imply that the clear coat also needs to be cared for and unwaxed car is likely to have paint damaged. Moreover, it lowers your need to preform further detailing treatments.
Our next topic is how often you should wax your car. In order to maintain the shine and color of your vehicle it is a good idea to consistently wax a car on a regular basis. But how often is too often, or not often enough?
You always hear “wax four times a year” with the seasons, but does this apply for every vehicle? Surely not, we can use it as a general guideline, but different cars have different stories to tell. In addition, even for the same car, the answers vary. However, here I conclude some of the important signs that are telling you the need for a car waxing.
1. Dry paint. Dry paint is similar to that of dry hands; it is one of the most common signs of paintwork neglect. Like you apply skin moisturizer to keep your hand from dry, you just need a car waxing job to replenish lost oils (due to penetrating UV rays) in the paintwork and nourish the paint to relieve the stress it has burdened due to dryness.
2. Newly visible light scratches. Do you know that minor imperfections such as clear coat scratches and light swirl marks have been embedded into your paint before you even own the car? Make a simple wax to fill these imperfections and protect the surface from future problems as well.
3. After polishing. We suggest you wax after a polishing procedure. It’s the wax’s job to seal in the hard work of polishing. Waxing helps to protect the newly polished vulnerable paint and extend its use life.
You waxing will pay off in the long run. So why not have a regular car waxing?
